Event and Wedding Planning

Our professional team brings together years of experience creating successful events.  Let us bring our expertise to your event, and help you plan a memorable party.  Our on-staff wedding planner, certified with the Wedding Planner Institute of Canada, knows the ins and outs of all the planning details you are considering – let Select be your guide to wedding planning as you make all the decisions that are important to your big day.  Unlimited access to our planning team is part of the package when you book with Select.


We work closely with local rental companies, and we can arrange everything you need for your event, from tents to teaspoons.  We take responsibility for the rentals to ensure they are washed and returned on time, and you won’t have to lift a finger.  Need specialty items for your themed party?  We can arrange for ice sculptures, special décor, or fun fair items, anything you need to make your event complete.

Flexible Service Options

While Select is known for full-service events, we offer a range of service options.  You can choose to have your event fully catered, or pick up your refrigerated items to prepare and serve yourself.  We offer many of our canapés ready to pop in the oven, so you can set the pace for your relaxed and casual event at home.  Delivery for many of our menu items is available, please contact us for a customized quote.

Our Staff

Every member of the Select Service team is trained to meet our highest standards of service.  All Select Service staff are our own employees, not through a temp agency, and we pay WSIB premiums to ensure you have no concerns with workplace injuries.  Our full-time event team is rounded out with a wide variety of part-time staff from every background imaginable – real estate, hospitality, education, and retail, to name a few.  Every Select Service event is led by a Captain who will ensure your event runs smoothly and according to your plans. 

We staff each event at an appropriate level for the service style you have selected.  Our staff are well compensated to ensure we can provide the best staff to work at every event.

Hourly rates (minimum of 3 hours)

Coordinator $45.00- $60.00

Captain $35.00

Bartender $30.00

Drink/Food Server $25.00 - $30.00

On-site Chef $50.00

Cook $30.00

Kitchen Preparation $22.00

Dishwasher $22.00

Travel time will be included in the hourly cost for each employee.

Payment Details

In order to hold your event date, we require a retainer of $500.00 for a wedding, and $200.00 for private or corporate events.  Within 30 days of the initial booking, we will gladly refund your retainer if you choose not to continue with Select. After 30 days the date will be blocked off for your event and your retainer will become a nonrefundable deposit.

The next step is a deposit – 50% of the estimated before-tax total is due 10 business days before your event, at the same time as your final guest count and confirmed menu.  Your guest count can increase after this date, but it cannot decrease.   The final balance is due 2 business days before your event.  We require a credit card imprint for all incidental charges (unexpected additions to your order, overtime charges, etc), which will be billed after your event.
